Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes. Too noisy is now a universal app that can run on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android devices.
I have just upgraded to iOS10 and the needle does not move?
In iOS10 you need to give the Too Noisy App permission to access your devices microphone. Please see the video below:
Can the user adjust the sensitivity of the Noise Meter?
Absolutely. Depending on what the group of children are doing at the time the acceptable level of noise will change, so we thought this was an important feature to include.
Are there more background images available?
Not on this version, but we hope to build this feature into later versions.
How do I get the image to display on a TV / Monitor or Projector etc.?
Here is a video that will provide useful information on this:
Will the app work in portrait mode?
No, the App is designed to only work in landscape mode.
How do I increase the volume of the Alarm?
The volume of the Alarm is controlled via the normal volume control on the Apple device. If the internal speaker in the device is not loud enough in a class situation, many users plug external speakers into the headphone socket of the device. This way the volume can be literally as loud as you like. We have found most external PC speakers to be ideal for this.
How do I restart my device?
What age range is the app suitable for?
We recommend this app for children from 4 to 12 years old, though some of our users say it works well with older students as well.
Where is it intended to be used?
Anywhere where the noise levels of children need to be controlled. Examples might be, a School classroom or Hall, at home, activity centres, crèches etc.,
The App has Locked up what should I do?
This type of error is often caused by a memory problem due to too many applications running in the background. Try pressing the Home button twice (the physical button on the device). You should then see all the apps currently running along the bottom of the screen. Put your finger on one of these icons and hold. You should then see the icons shake and a “X” appear on them. Simply tap on the “X” to remove the app from memory, repeat this for the other apps along the bottom (these will all be running in memory also). Once you have freed the memory try running the app again. If this does not solve the problem please refer to the “How do I delete an app and re-download?” question below (you won’t have to pay for the app again).
How do I delete an app and re-download?
- First delete the application from your device. To do this, press and hold on the icon until an X appears on the top corner of the icon. Press the X, and you will be prompted to delete.
- Re-download the application using the same Apple ID and you will not have to purchase it again. See more.
- After installation is complete, restart your device. (See above for help on restarting your device.)
Can I re-download for free?
Yes. You will not need to purchase it again if you re-download the application using the same Apple ID. See more.
